The Application Developer will be responsible for supporting the existing infrastructure of systems and applications integrating the energy management system. In a team environment, the candidate will collaborate with internal customers including business analysts, generation and transmission engineers, and market function employees. The incumbent in the position will be familiar with all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle and project management techniques.

  • Maintain and enhance existing Web applications as well as integrating with internal and external systems.
  • Develop database driven and user driven Web interfaces for rapid, real time information sharing.
  • Develop new Web applications as identified by supervisor and management through packaged and customized applications.
  • Perform complete testing of Web applications unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
  • Ensure proper technical documentation is maintained.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to pormpt answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
  • Self motivated, detail oriented and organized.

Education/Work Experience

Required for Selection:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Electric Engineering/Engineering Technology. Work experience will be considered.
  • Demonstarted skills in Java.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a structured environmnet with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other communciation.
  • Self motivated, detail oriented and organized.

Preferred for Selection:

  • Moderate to strong skills in Java Development
  • Experience with J2EE Architecture and Framework
  • Demonstrated skills in SQL and PLISQL
  • Previous utilities industry experience

Position will be filled at a level deemed appropriate by the manager, based on educations, skills, experience and knowledge.
