NiSource is currently seeking Summer Interns within Enterprise Architecture department in Columbus, OH and Merrillville, IN locations.  Successful applicants will become integral members of the department while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with team members and leaders on important projects.  These positions will be a great opportunity for the candidate desiring to launch their career in an Information Technology field.  Successful applicants will build professional relationships with other interns and all levels of NiSource personnel while participating in rewarding professional development exercises and fun, team-building activities.  Interns will obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry.

Enterprise Architecture

Enterprise Architecture is responsible for creating the technology strategy and roadmap.  This team is responsible for developing standards and guidelines that should be used in planning, designing and implementing Information Technology applications and platforms. This team works collaboratively with other groups to drive the architecture vision for NiSource.  Opportunities within Enterprise Architecture include: 

Architecture Management:  Assist with the adoption of TOGAF governance processes for Enterprise Architecture. Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to document enterprise standards and manage a project plan to update existing standards.

Application Portfolio Management: Conduct weekly operational reviews. Perform quality checks of input into the operational tools to support APM.  Develop reports for APM.

  • Major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline. ¿
  • Required GPA 3.0 and above. ¿
  • Solid skills in utilizing computers, operating systems, mobile devices and software (MS Office Suite, MS Project, and other IT applications). ¿
  • Excellent analytical abilities, including process analysis and development, problem-solving and root-cause analysis.¿
