Responsibilities

NiSource is currently seeking Summer Interns within the IT Services department in Columbus, OH and Merrillville, IN locations.  Successful applicants will become integral members of the department while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with team members and leaders on important projects.  These positions will be a great opportunity for the candidate desiring to launch their career in an Information Technology field.  Successful applicants will build professional relationships with other interns and all levels of NiSource personnel while participating in rewarding professional development exercises and fun, team-building activities.  Interns will obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry.

IT Services

The Service Management function promotes a `One IT¿ approach to deliver fully integrated IT Services and drives cross-tower IT service provider governance and performance management. The team accomplishes this by seamlessly integrating interdependent IT services from various internal and external service providers into end-to-end services in order to meet business requirements and outcomes. This intern role will assist the Service Management team in developing analysis of key metrics to draw conclusions and help management make better / more informed decisions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve the overall IT environments via technology, automation and effective operational processes. This role will gain experience and knowledge working with the industry leading ServiceNow ITSM platform.
 

Qualifications
  • Major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline. ¿
  • Required GPA 3.0 and above. ¿
  • Solid skills in utilizing computers, operating systems, mobile devices and software (MS Office Suite, MS Project, and other IT applications). ¿
  • Excellent analytical abilities, including process analysis and development, problem-solving and root-cause analysis.¿
