Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Lead Pipeline Integrity Program
  • DIMP & TIMP
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance to corrosion technicians 
  • Manage the Active Corrosion program
  • Train and evaluate corrosion technicians 
  • Continue education in corrosion courses (CP Interference, CP3, CIP, etc.)
  • Evaluate new technologies and processes within the industry/best practices
  • Support System Operations & Operations Leadership
  • Track costs associated with Corrosion Remediation
  • Run & organize annual monitoring program spreadsheets/data
  • Run reports on Preventive Maintenance
  • QA/QC of corrosion technicians & contractors
  • Perform root cause analysis, report and offer guidance regarding leak trends
  • Participate as a member of the NiSource corrosion SMR group
  • Drive continuous improvement with corrosion program
  • Assist with other departmental projects (Leakage, M&R)
Qualifications

Required for Selection:

  • NACE CP1-Cathodic Protection Tester
  • 3 years of experience as a corrosion technician
  • Continuing education in corrosion courses (CP Interference, CP3, CIP, etc.)
  • Possess all Operator Qualifications of the Corrosion Technician position
  • In-depth knowledge of and understanding of 49 C.F.R. Part 192 Subpart I, Subpart O and Subpart P
  • Experience performing ACVG, CIS, DCVG, and PCM
  • Knowledge and ability to mitigate AC and DC stray current interference
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection, and impressed current systems
  • Able to recognize and respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions
  • Competent electrical knowledge
  • Proficient with WMS, Excel, Word, COGNOS, Ventyx, etc.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Possess a valid driver¿s license
  • Demonstrated ability to train and lead others

Preferred for Selection:

  • NACE CP2-Cathodic Protection Technician or NACE CIP Level 1
  • Experience leading Integrity Management surveys and excavations
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline coatings and their applications

Education Level

High School Graduate or Equivalent

This position is subject to applicable DOT Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (AMPP) regulations.

Residency Requirements: 

Position located in Lexington, KY, but will require travel throughout the state.
