Responsibilities

Purpose:The P2P IT Program Manager will be responsible for managing the technology solution design and delivery for the enterprise-wide Procure-to-Pay Transformation.  Partnering closely with the P2P Business Program Manager, the IT Program Manager is responsible for guiding IT resources and service providers to plan, manage and execute the program to achieve the overall business case.  

The position serves as a core member of the Applications leadership team, collaborating closely with the P2P Steering Committee, broader IT team and service providers, Transformation Office, and business leaders to drive a standardized enterprise-wide P2P solution to meet our business needs and create value for our customers.  

Key outcomes for success include:

  • Deliver the project within scope, schedule, cost and quality
  • Achieve the committed savings and business objectives in the approved P2P Business Case
  • Strong collaboration with the broader IT and Transformation team, business leaders and subject-matter-experts. 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Plans and manages the ~$19M P2P IT program that is comprised of highly visible, high-profile projects (PCard, Core Procurement, and Services Procurement) that span the organization and have significant enterprise impact.
  • Accountable to Executive Steering Committee and Stakeholder Reference Groups for IT program delivery including the efficiency and functionality of all IT Project completions, timeline adherence, budget and resource management.
  • Develops overall program strategy to ensure proper sequencing and integration of components within the portfolio and partners with P2P Business Program Manager, IT Leadership and P2P Steering Committee to evaluate changes to scope, timing, and budgets as necessary, based upon the needs of the business.
  • Partners with P2P Business Program Manager to ensure all solution components are aligned and technology is enabled to support achievement of the business case, including organization planning, process efficiencies and associated policy and procedure changes.
  • Provides leadership, direction, coordination and coaching for IT and project resources during their day to day management and implementation of program tasks, activities and processes.
  • Manages multiple service providers selected to participate in assigned projects, including full vendor management procedures
  • Synthesizes key messages, packages appropriate information for senior audience(s) and presents to the executive (e.g EGC, Steering Team, etc.) in partnership with the P2P Business Program Manager.
  • Partner with Change Lead to ensure cultural change program activities are aligned with overall program approach and timeline to drive adoption of solutions.

Key Work Experience & Competencies:

  • Ability to manage complex enterprise-wide IT initiatives with multiple work streams, service providers, and stakeholders
  • Project management skills related to work planning, project staffing, project work oversight and dispatch, solution review and approval, and timeline, milestone, issue, risk, project change and financial management
  • In- depth knowledge of procurement functionality and best practices within and beyond NiSource.
  • Ability to manage through multiple stakeholder groups with conflicting priorities to achieve critical decisions
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management best practices including knowledge of waterfall, agile and SDLC methodologies and tools
  • Must have excellent leadership skills (proven ability to coach, develop and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)
  • Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision
Qualifications

Required for selection:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of complex, enterprise-wide Project/Program management experience with at least 5-7 years of leadership experience across IT and business functions.
  • Experience managing projects/programs $5-$10M+ that span multiple years and consist of a combination of internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management best practices including knowledge of waterfall, agile and SDLC methodologies and tools
  • Must have excellent leadership skills (proven ability to coach, develop and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)
  • Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision
  • Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning
  • Strong Business Process Analysis skills and Business Process Mapping
  • Experience implementing change management approaches to support programs
  • Experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team.
  • PMP Certification and ITIL experience preferred
