Job Description

Introduction

Provides support and guidance to management in their assessment of the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Assist Process Owners in their self-testing of controls and the remediation of identified deficiencies. The incumbent will assume responsibility for maintaining an adequate internal control structure within the company's business processes and will ensure that the Process Owner's quarterly self-testing of controls is sufficient to support management's quarterly and annual certifications.

Responsibilities

 Compliance Analyst:

  • Performs SOX compliance functions and certain administrative duties under general supervision.
  • Participates in supporting Process Owners and SOX Compliance Group in their evaluation of risks and controls within their business processes.
  • Coordinates annual testing of Entity-Level controls including Entity-Level Survey.
  • Participates in maintaining SOX Compliance database in support of quarterly control testing and annual certifications.
  • Generates and distributes various reports on status of quarterly testing and results.
  • Participates in process walkthroughs and develops process narratives and flowcharts identifying key control points.
  • Assists Process Owners with general SOX Compliance questions.
  • Participates in other reviews and special projects as needed.

Senior Compliance Analyst:Includes Compliance Analyst duties plus:

  • Provides facilitation and guidance to Process Owners on evaluating changes to business risks and controls.
  • Prepares and implements changes to internal controls based on ongoing feedback from Process Owners.
  • Participates with management in Transformation type initiatives to identify new business risks and required controls to mitigate those risks.
  • Coordinates/Leads projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Requires BS/BA in accounting, finance, or other business experience.
  • Prefer knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Act.
  • Requires knowledge of business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • 1-3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, regulatory compliance or a related field.

Senior Compliance Analyst:

  • Requires BS/BA in accounting, finance, or other business discipline.
  • Requires knowledge of Sarbanes - Oxley Act.
  • Requires knowledge of business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to be objective and use exceptionally good judgment.
  • Requires knowledge of business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prefer audit experience with a large publicly held corporation.
  • Prefer at least four years recent work experience in auditing, accounting, regulatory compliance or a related field.
