Job Description

Introduction

The Supply Chain Consultant is an integral part of Procurement Operations and reports to the Manager, Procurement Operations.  This position is responsible for sourcing and procurement projects from inception to successful conclusion, negotiation preparation, economic analysis, evaluating market data and negotiating best value solutions with suppliers.  The Supply Chain Consultant is accountable for supplier relations, issue resolution, and process improvements.  The Supply Chain Consultant must possess an ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and still meet business performance measures, timelines for procurement and sourcing activities and plan for future material and supply needs of the business units.   

Responsibilities
  • Develops and utilizes databases and spreadsheets
  • Responsible for procurement and sourcing projects of varying levels of complexity
  • Plans, negotiates, and executes agreements and purchase order term and conditions with suppliers
  • Identifies and recommends work process improvements
  • Develops economic impact analysis for business units
  • Defines, understands, and communicates cost drivers for products and services
  • Analyzes RFP responses for total value and total cost of ownership and recommend solutions
  • Facilitates cross-functional teams through the sourcing process
  • Develops, runs, and analyzes reports regarding key business measures
  • Adheres to policies and procedures
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external clients
  • Builds and maintains supplier relations and resolve issues
  • Researches, evaluates, communicates market data and executes on opportunities based on the market date
  • Develops and executes savings opportunities, efficiencies and process improvements
  • Understands and meets procurement savings targets
  • Includes Procurement Analyst and Specialist duties and responsibilities as needed and required
Qualifications

Key Work Experience/Education

Required for Selection:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and achieve goals
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Three or more years of Professional Experience

Preferred for Selection:

  • CPM
  • Two or more years Procurement Operations Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of sourcing methodologies

Technical/Functional Competencies

Required for Selection: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Meet internal and external customer service levels
  • Demonstrate drive and commitment to achieve business results
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Procurement/ERP software (Peoplesoft, Ariba, or similar)

 Preferred for Selection: 

  • Lotus Notes database administration
  • Knowledge of Contract Management & Administration
  • Financial Analysis experience
  • Integrated Supply Chain Management experience
  • Market Analysis experience
  • Knowledge of Procurement Processes
  • Requirements Analysis experience
  • Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Supplier Analysis experience
  • Supplier Negotiations experience
  • Supplier Relationship Management experience
  • Total Cost of Ownership Analysis experience
